Reoccurring Characters

History:

The being known as Niken Thurdsen was participating in a battle in his eighteenth year when he took what should have been a fatal blow to the stomach. As the battle raged over the hill an object lowered from the sky that can only described by modern times as a UFO. Spacesuited beings took him into the ship as he passed out. Long story short. Those beings were time travelers from a bleak future who were seeking to change their future history by altering the past. In their time, the world was taken over by a great evil. They hoped to change this by throwing a monkey wrench into the works of time by converting certain humans, who were otherwise fated to die, into cyborgs with the mission to do all they could to stop the evil from coming about. Niken was one such. Their skeletons were replaced by a dense but unbreakable alloy, their muscles with a synthetic flexing material and their brains were enhanced with supercomputers. In their memory banks were placed the information they would need to repair or replace every artificial part of their new bodies. Niken, having been trained as a blacksmith, was the only one to fashion an unbreakable, eversharp sword from the material used for the skeletons. His sword Censtan.

All told, ten humans were thusly modified. Besides Niken, only three others remain.

Over the centuries, Niken has been married a number of times, but he always outlives his wives and is usually forced to move on to avoid the trouble of people realizing he never ages.

To this day, Niken keeps his eye on the human race.

History:
Ascertain and Intercede were two of a generation of dragon hybrids who were trained from birth
as guardians of their Dragon Compound. The system allows a dragon to "retire" from guardianship
after 300 years of service and so, when they do, new dragon hatchlings are raised to replace them.
So Cert and Cede ended up in the position. They met during training and got along famously. Since
dragons can no longer breed with each other, the old rules of male and female pairing were dropped.
So they formed a dragonic union and have been together ever since. Even though they are in their 60's,
they are still very young by dragon standards and so they wear the appearance of 25 year olds while
in human form.
